Hosted Forms From Webforms.online
Usually while building surveys and data collection forms using an online service, the process is graphical and UI driven. While this approach works, for those who need to design multiple forms or find clicking through a form builder complicated and for those who prefer a textual approach like me, there is a new method to build forms.
Webforms.online introduces FDN Form Definition Notation, an easy to learn and simple text based form definition notation. This is as straightforward as asking a few questions via email.
An example
@name Enter your name
@email Enter your email
The simple markup above will generate a form with a name and email field. FDN allows text fields, dropdown selects, required and optional fields as well as a textarea field.
Forms are hosted at webforms.online and the public URL can be shared to collect responses. The data submitted is available to download and view for the form creator.
Please explore the full notation here As time goes on, more features will be added to the notation to support more field types and validation rules.
