txCaptcha is a simple, easy to use CAPTCHA plug-in for wordpress which uses the method of text based captcha for spam protection.
By using text based captcha, you can easily keep the spams away. Also it is an accessible method of spam prevention.
The current version of txCaptcha, 0.5, allows you to set the text based question to ask and the answer to it through the admin panel.
It also uses the CAPTCHA test for protecting your wp registration form from spam bots registering as users on your blog.
Why use logical CAPTCHAS?
We use CAPTCHAs for keeping the spam away which are generally posted by
automated spambots. By using a logical CAPTCHA requiring some problem solving ability from your visitors,
you effectively stop automated bots which don't have got artificial brain yet which is powerful enough to answer question requiring the ability to understand the logic.
Unless the spammer targets your WP blog specifically, you can safely say that automated bots will not be able to break in.
And by choosing text based logical captcha against math based captcha, you negate the chances of errors from commenters and
and reduce the possibility of straightforward parsing of question by spammers.
Another strong consideration is that of accessibility. Since a good number of web surfers have some sort of vision impairment or
are completely blind like myself, it becomes very difficult to prove that you are indeed a human without sited help.

Requirements
Version 0.5 of txCaptcha will work best on the latest wordpress version 2.5.1. Although tests using wp2.0.7 has shown that the
protection from comment spam does work but the protection from spam registration does not.
installation
Download the txCaptcha.zip from this page,
unzip it inside your wp-content/plugin directory,
activate the txCaptcha plugin from the admin area.
